The first construction-related activity as part of the Denver Union Station project will get underway the week of Sept. 7. Utility work on Wewatta Street, just north of the Regional Transportation District’s light rail platform at Denver Union Station, will begin Tuesday. This will divert eastbound traffic and alter public access to the light rail platform and continue for approximately eight weeks. The work is part of the early work that needs to occur as part of the redevelopment of Denver Union Station.

During the construction period, work will be conducted in the eastbound lanes of Wewatta between 16th and 18th streets. Traffic will continue to flow east and west using alternate lanes.

The work will also narrow sidewalk access on the north side of the light rail platform at 16th and Wewatta streets.
