Denver Public Works Press Release

Denver Public Works Street Maintenance began work on Martin Luther King Boulevard at Colorado Boulevard and will be moving east towards Quebec Street. The work includes installing bicycle lanes, replacing concrete paving, curb and gutter, landscaping, pedestrian curb ramps, partial repair of concrete pavement and restriping pavement. The project is expected to be completed by the beginning of August 2010.

This is a “moving closure” – one to two lanes in each direction on Martin Luther King Boulevard will be closed as the project progresses from Colorado Boulevard to Quebec Street. Detours will be in place as needed, with minimal inconvenience to drivers and pedestrians. The public’s patience and cooperation during construction is greatly appreciated.

This is a $3.9 million Better Denver Bond Program project, with Villalobos Concrete Co. as the prime contractor.
