CDOT starts widening project for Parker Road at Orchard intersection; daytime lane closures scheduled
CDOT Press Release
The Colorado Department of Transportation has begun an intersection improvement project on Parker Road at Orchard Road. The project will widen northbound Parker Road to accommodate a third through lane at the intersection of Orchard Road.
Throughout the project, the right lane of northbound Parker Road at Orchard Road will be closed from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., Monday through Friday. Delays are possible and alternate routes are advised. CDOT would like to remind motorists to obey all traffic signs and flaggers and to “Slow for the Cone Zone.”
“Over the years, we have seen tremendous growth in traffic volumes along this stretch of Parker Road,” said CDOT Resident Engineer Abe Lavassani. “The additional through lane will carry more traffic through this intersection, improving both safety and mobility.”
New Design Construction Co. is the contractor for this $458,000 project that is scheduled to be complete by the end of December 2009.
