New traction paving work not yet completed; I-25 SB flyover ramp to I-225 down to one lane for Monday rush hour

A lane will still be closed on the I-25 southbound-to-I-225 northbound flyover ramp near the Denver Tech Center for Monday morning’s rush hour when work crew found it taking longer than expected to cure new traction paving over the weekend.

CDOT announced Sunday afternoon that the two-lane ramp will be restricted to a single lane to allow the new paving to set up correctly.

The paving is a type of traction material consisting of an epoxy treatment that helps to protect the concrete bridge deck from chlorides that are in de-icers. The paving also contains chips of granite to provide a rough surface for traction and for holding de-icing material longer.

The second lane was expected to be open by 5:30 a.m. Monday. As a result of the continued restriction, minor delays are expected for traffic going from southbound I-25 to I-225.
