Work started this week on safety improvements to the Interstate 70 interchange at Palisade, a project funded by the American Recovery & Reinvestment Act, the Grand Junction Sentinel reports.
United Companies of Mesa County was hired by the Colorado Department of Transportation to make the improvements to the interchange at exit 42, according to a news release from CDOT.
United is being paid $1.1 million to do the work, according to CDOT.
Work will continue until late November. One lane of the eastbound on-ramp will be closed from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m., Monday through Thursday and possibly on Fridays.
